An Act of Courage and Compassion
In a world where small acts of kindness can make a big difference, Susan Langrell’s parachute jump for Brambles Respite Centre for Children, is a testament to the power of community and compassion. Making the leap from thousands of feet in the air, Susan’s courage is not just about the adrenaline rush, but about making a significant impact on the lives of children who need it most.
The Heart of Brambles Respite Centre
Brambles Respite Centre, nestled near Newtownmountkennedy is a haven for children with special needs. Managed by St. Catherine’s Association, the centre provides much-needed respite care, giving children a safe, nurturing environment while offering families a vital break from the demands of caregiving. The dedicated team at Brambles is committed to enriching the lives of these children through various therapeutic and recreational activities.
Susan’s Journey
Susan’s journey to the jump is as inspiring as the cause she supports. A longtime supporter of Brambles, she has witnessed firsthand the positive changes the centre brings to children and their families. Her decision to take on a parachute jump was driven by a desire to raise awareness and funds for the centre, to help other families and to honour the memory of her brother, Philip, who had spent many happy hours in Brambles and who Susan hopes is proud of her achievement.
Well Done, Susan!
Susan’s parachute jump is more than an act of individual bravery; it’s a symbol of compassion and community in action. As she ‘freefalled’ through the sky, Susan embodied the spirit of giving and the profound impact of collective effort.
Thanks to Susan and everyone that supported her, we can ensure that every child receives the care, support, and opportunities they need to thrive at Brambles.
