We have exciting new Opportunities for: Day Service Facilitators

Positions Available:

Permanent Full-time (39 hrs/week Monday to Friday)

You are:

A dynamic and energetic team player with a passion for working with children/young people with intellectual disabilities. You are kind, caring, and compassionate. You have excellent team working skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment. You have the ability to work under pressure and handle changing priorities. You are familiar with best practices in Social Care and apply these consistently in your work.

Job Role:

  • To support the adults in our day service by providing the opportunities to develop and grow through a range of different aspects of their life.
  • Assist in the development of individual personal plans for each person to ensure the delivery of effective, high quality service
  • Encourage independence through choosing and pursuing own interests.
  • Showcase the potential and creativity of adults with special needs.
  • Facilitate enjoyable activities to foster confidence and encourage creativity.
  • To assist in the teaching of life skills, cooking, budgeting.
  • To actively seek new interests and opportunities for people to develop meaningful roles in their communities.
  • Actively participate in appropriate, educational, recreational and occupational programmes.
  • Facilitate and implement a person centred service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of each individual.
  • Reports to: Day Services Manager

 

Essential:

  • A Minimum QQI Level 5 in Social Care, Social Studies, Healthcare or equivalent
  • An interest in working with individuals that have Intellectual Disabilities and Autism
  • Person-centred approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and reliability.
  • Knowledge of New Directions Regulations and National Standards for persons with disabilities.
  • Full driving license and willing to drive company vehicles
  • Annual Leave will be scheduled at Easter, during August and Christmas to facilitate service closure.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge.
  • Experience of working in a day services environment.
